The homesteading lifestyle has long been one of self-reliance and independence. What better mindset than that of the homesteader to celebrate this upcoming July 4th.
We are fortunate that the village we live in (although surrounded by urban wilderness) holds fast to small town values and family friendly ideals. Each year they host a 4th of July celebration that begins with a parade and ends with music and fireworks in our river-front park. It's something the entire town turns out for. How about you? What family traditions do you have to celebrate Independence Day? I'd love to hear about them.
